After unveiling the Scram 440 at Motoverse 2024, Royal Enfield has launched the motorcycle with a starting price of Rs. 2.08 lakh for the Trail variant, which makes it just Rs 1,300 more expensive than its predecessor, the Scram 411. The more expensive Force trim costs Rs. 2.15 lakh (both prices are ex-showroom).

The bike is powered by a new 443cc, air/oil-cooled engine that makes 25.4bhp at 6,250rpm and 34Nm of peak torque at 4,000rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox. The bigger displacement and additional gear should make it a more capable touring bike. The Trail variant rides on conventional 19/17-inch spoke wheels with tube-type tyres. On the other hand, the top-spec Force variant gets alloy wheels with tubeless tyres. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks and a monoshock while braking is handled by a single disc at both ends.

The styling of the Scram 440 is largely similar to the Scram 411. There’s a round headlight with a small cowl around it, a large fuel tank and a slim tail section. Royal Enfield has also introduced new colours- Force Teal, Force Grey, Force Blue, Trail Green, and Trail Blue. In terms of features, the bike comes equipped with an LED headlight, switchable dual-channel ABS and a revised front brake for better stopping power.

The Royal Enfield Scram 440 will go up against the Triumph Scrambler 400X and Yezdi Scrambler.
